What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a fast and easy way to pull current news and blog information from around the Web and have it delivered right to your computer.
How do I add content?
On your homepage, some of the content has already been included - for example, Today's News, Your Horoscope, Stocks, Weather, etc. Once you're signed into the portal with your username and password, you can click on either the "Add Content" link in the upper right corner of the page within the "Welcome" module. You can also click on the "Personalize" link within the "Add Content" module. Once you're on the Add Content page, you can either Browse Content by category or add your content manually. Customizing the page to your liking and adding new content to your page is easy. Any site that supports RSS can be added to your My Content page. You can add content from the Browse By Topic page, or add it manually.

To add content from the Browse Content tab
  1. Once you get to the Add Content page, the Browse Content tab is displayed by default.
  2. You may click on the categories from the left column - this includes topics like News & Media, Entertainment & Arts, etc. - or you may use the search box to find content in the directory.
  3. The content is displayed by category in the middle column. Click on a title to preview the content in the upper right Preview area.
  4. Click the +Add button next to the content you want added to your page.
  5. Congratulations! You've just added a new RSS feed to your page.
  6. This content will be added to your homepage as a new module, or box containing the content. You can manage the content you've added from the Add Content page or from the homepage within each module.
  7. Within each content module, use the Edit button in the upper right corner to customize the number of links displayed and the display of the information.

To add content manually using a URL
  1. Go to the site you'd like to add, or do a quick Web search if you don't know the exact address.
  2. Look for a little orange button like this rss or xml. This indicates that the site syndicates its content, or offers it for use in RSS format. Usually, the button points directly to the site's RSS file. (Often, it looks like raw code, but don't be afraid!)
  3. To find the RSS URL, right-click on the orange XML button to Copy Shortcut. Or click on the XML button and select Copy from the Edit menu to copy the URL found in the address bar of your browser.
  4. Return to the Add RSS by URL page, and click within the URL entry field, select Paste from the Edit menu, and hit enter or the "Go" button.
  5. Congratulations! You've just added a new RSS feed to your page.

How do I delete content?

  1. In the upper right corner of your content module on the homepage, click on the "X" button to delete the module; OR
  2. Go to the Add Content page and click on the content under the MY CONTENT section on the right to preview it. Click on the "Remove" button in the upper right corner of the preview area.
